There is an App for that Fridays #2

Welcome to the second installment of my new 'There is an App for that Fridays' series!

All around blogville we are seeing posts about this new website named

Haven't heard of it?? Think of  it as a virtual pinboard where you can create collections of things you love and follow collections created by other people. It's a good way to keep track of any inspiration projects and know exactly where to find them!

Are you already a member? Follow me here. Do you need an invitation? Just let me know!

Now you are wondering why in the world is she talking about a website in this series?? Well you guessed it!.... There is an app for that!

You can look through other people's pins

Repin, like, or comment your favorite pins

Apparently I was hungry during my last pinning session because all I got was food! :)

Use you camera to pin and add a location so others can visit

The app will save the picture you take in your camera roll

There you have it... another great tool in the palm of you hands. What have you pinned lately?

Have a great weekend!

Recipe: Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Bites

I must confess... I am not much of a cook (my husband would agree). Unless you want something different than a cup of coffee, don't set your expectations too high. I truly admire the people that can be creative and pull a meal just by looking into their pantry. I am just a recipe follower and most of the time I don't get it right.

After spending a few minutes on Pinterest the other day, I found this recipe on Remodelaholic's cooking pinboard and decided to give it a try!

The recipe was originally called Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Chicken Bites and the only ingredient I didn't have was the jalapenos, so I decided to go with Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Chicken Bites :)

What do you need for my oh so different version? (giggles)
  • 3 chicken breasts, cut in 2 and then through the middle so they are thinner (does that make sense?)
  • 2-ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, cut in half
  • Pepper
How do you do them?
Dab a little bit of cream cheese on the chicken, sprinkle some pepper, and wrap with bacon!

The first couple of pieces made my hands look like a pretzel, but got the hang of it after a little while.

The original recipe calls for the bites to be grilled, but last night the weather wasn't looking grilling-friendly, so I cooked them in the oven using the broil setting (at 400°F). It took about 20 minutes.

Cooked some green beans as a side and that's is!

Easy peasy and very filling AND more importantly:
Note: Next time, we might throw some onions and cheese in there and actually cook it on the grill.

For desert, the husband was craving some sort smoothy/milkshake type drink. I gave him a blank stare and asked, are you going to go get it? He rolled his eyes, went to the kitchen, grabbed some milk, vanilla ice cream, and frozen strawberries, put all the ingredients in the blender, and made me an awesome strawberry milkshake ... yumm... (his had peanut butter instead of strawberries)

Yep, ate mine in a coffee cup :) and sorry for the blurry picture :(

What are you having for dinner tonight?

There is an App for that Fridays

I can't recall if I've mentioned on this blog before but I consider myself a little bit of a techie. I really like technology and all the benefits it offers and that includes my phone. I currently have an Iphone which has become like my third arm... I know it sounds weird but I use it for EVERYTHING. It keeps me connected with my friends and family who are far away, it keeps me on schedule, it's my alarm, my reminders......and the list could go on.

Based on that, while drinking a much deserved cup of coffee, my light bulb lit up and came up with the idea to start a blog series telling you about some of the apps (mainly free) that I have on my phone or that I hear other people around me use, and you'll be surprised that there is an app for everything!

Here we go!

I'm one of those persons that has a key ring just to carry all the loyalty cards I get. If I'm offered one I get it.

So for my first post on this series, I'll feature the Key Ring app

This app will turn this:

Into this:

It's wonderful. I have all of them in the palm of my hands without any chance of forgetting them. The Key Ring app says "use Key Ring to scan & store your existing loyalty cards, enroll in new loyalty programs, and access exclusive coupons and discounts".

Did you get that last part? other coupons and discounts? That's correct! For example, I have my Ulta Rewards card. They usually mail and email different discount coupons but usually I forget to have them with me. When I added Ulta to my key ring app, it uploads those coupons so I can access them any time from my phone!

Key Ring App = No more forgotten coupons
The best part? It's free! and available for androids too!

Kroger (I recommend to sign up to cellfire too) and Office Depot also upload coupons.

Wait there is more! You can look for local discounts and other programs. Remember my previous post about Michaels and the infamous coupon? This app lets you sign up and get the coupon every week! No more forgetting, no more printing!

{If only Hobby Lobby did the same thing}

There you have it. The first installment of There is an App for that Fridays. What do you think? Are there any apps you recommend? - I have tons to come.

* Non of the Apps that will be mention in this series is sponsored. I'll let you know other wise.

Everyone head to Michael's!!

Spring weather didn't last very long for us, we are back to rain, rain and more rain plus awesome low 50s weather. With any outdoor projects on hold, I decided to catch up on my bloggy reading since this weekend I didn't get a chance to look through them.

For some reason there were a few posts talking about Michaels and that awesome coupon we all know :)

yeah that one!

Wouldn't you call that a sign? Besides there is a Michaels 'kinda' on my way home from work....So I got in my car and to Michaels I went.

I'm one of those people that literally walks isle by isle thinking that I'm going to miss something good. They had several things on sale - for instance, their frames were buy one get one for a penny! Eventually, I made it to the scrapbook storage isle..... all 40% off! Who needs the coupon! Found things like

and

Do you see that piece in the back of the picture to the left? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? If you've read my Hallway Bathroom post you know what I'm thinking. Yep, I got this and hopefully it'll work in real life as it does in my head.

Looking at these great craft spaces, makes want to set up mine asap :) So head to Michaels and stop by to let me know what you found.

I can't believe it's been 6 months since Adam and I became Mr. and Mrs. I guess time flies when you are having fun :)

Feels like yesterday when I was choosing a dress....

...deciding what the bridesmaids were going to wear....

... choosing the design of our invitations....

making center pieces, the cake and all of our DIY projects which I talk about here and here.

and all of that resulted in the best day of our lives

Love you Adam! and I hope we have many halfayearsaries to come.
